WORK HARD AND PLAY HARD

This is how we start with the deep sea fishing business. First we try small boat then we buy large fishing trawler like the one at the background. All the hardships have been paid off. The smile come all the way until now. From left, the brilliant young entrepreneur from Kedah, me and Tuan Ahmad Bajuri or Ahmad Bee. The two guys are damn good swimmer and diver. That's why they didn't wear life jacket maaaa... They think they can swim in this 70 m of water?
I haven't introduce Ahmad Bee before and I will take this opportunity. He can speak several languages including Japanese, English, Malay and Javanese but Javanese is the dominant language. If he speaks to you in any of the languages, the mother tongue is still prominent. I guess he eat too much "tempe". "Alah sopo kui, ini pun nak di ceritakan kok"
He is one of the very active members of Fisherman Club. Him together with Harmadi and Ripin will bring torch lights at dawn and night to see their catch in the "bubu". So far three "bubu" have been installed at sea but the return is not very encouraging. I ask them why? They said the "bubu" opening is too big, that's why the small fish escape from the "bubu". Strangely why the big fish didn't go in? Later, they make the opening smaller so that the small fish not able to escape, but the result still the same. For sure they cannot catch the big ones!!!!
We don't have fresh fish for the past many weeks. I miss the "asam pedas" maaa.. When question pose to Ripin, as usual with the honest smile "alah Che Mat, suka-suka aje. Nampak ikan banyak berkeliaran tapi dia lalu aje, frust betullah". I feel the frustration maaa, very deep inside my heart and almost cry. I guess "tak ada rezeki" and they have been very creative so far. Another "bubu" is in the making. We will see the effectiveness. Go guys goooooo!!!
Go back to Ahmad Bee. He started his karaoke singing career here at Kg Pasir Berdengung. He normally sleep after maghrib and wake up before mid night. He comes with his eyes red. I thought that he cried when spoke over the phone with his wife and kids!!! The reason why he came late night because he didn't want others to hear him singing. Very shy person lohh...Now, after so many practices, he is one of the best singer at the "kampung". He still goes to sleep early and later wake up to be "burung hantu" maaa... His favourite songs are from the Alleycat album. He is a great contender to the "Mendiang Logan" and almost match the person. He is still working to improve his singing because the pronunciation is still like "Herman Tino" not "Logan". Nevertheless, we are greatly entertained by him. Thank you very much for the service to your comrades. "Kuala Lumpur, senyuman mu, di pagi ini, indah .....Di lebuhraya dan papan tanda....Cinta bersemi lagi ( alamak lupa lah!!) " Terima kaseeeehh.
He is a good kitchen helper. "Suka potong ayam cincang-cincang" looh. Nobody can challenge his "jemput-jemput". He cooks marvellous "jemput-jemput". One day, without realizing (his mind was away in Malaysia) he tried to make "jemput-jemput ikan bilis dan pisang". That's new recipe but somebody stopped him from proceeding. Zul said "Mat, aku suruh kau buat goreng pisang lah, bukan jemput-jemput dua rasa.." Sound like "orang kaya Haji Bakhil". I guess he is too specialize in one recipe, need to learn from the wife and continue training at site.
I believe he loves and enjoys living in this land of opportunities. Am I right Brother?? Don't forget to bring "kuih tat" for our friends to celebrate Eid Fitri!!! Maaf Zahir & Batin.
"Jangan Marah". This is only "gurauan aje".
