This photo was not taken at a studio. The place was somewhere in between Suakin and Kasala. On the day of Eid Fitri, 2006, we were discussing among the remains at site where to spend our Eid. We didn't have any relative at port Sudan and all of our local friends went back to Khartoum. Daing suggested we travel to Pump Station 6 to greet the only one Malaysian at the camp. We brought together some water, mee hoon goreng, fruit, rendang ayam (taste like curry maaa...) and cookies sent by HQ in KL. Daing was the leader of the expedition and he was very confidence that he could find the route to the PS easily. He contacted many people in Khartoum to get direction but failed. At the end, we end up somewhere in the desert maaaa.... Nobody around. We went through sand storm, rain and flood. It was a good experience, Alhamdulillah.
The photo showed some of us eating grape fruit and cookies. The mee hoon also "khalas". Very hungry maaa.... No R&R food stall like in Malaysia. Several days later, we were informed that the Pump Station located approximately 100km from the main road of Port Sudan-Khartoum. That's was the reason why we didn't find it. The funny part, the Malaysian was not at the station on that day. That was a blessing trip...and we enjoyed it the most. The enjoyment overcame our sadness for not able to be present with the beloved families.
