Most of us may not recognize this gentleman. He was sent to UAE to assist me looking after the concrete coating pipes. Looking at the picture will not tell you the "untold story". There is a saying "On every picture, there was a story behind it".
One day, I was driving a car with him and Mail Gunung. I was supposed to send this gentleman to Ras Al Khaimah about three hours driving from Abu Dhabi. On the way to Dubai, he was talking about his father request to taste fresh dates. I showed him thousands of date palm trees along the highway. I believed the goverment of Dubai planted the trees to protect the highway from sand storm. I told him that nobody picked the dates and normally it fall on the ground and became rotten. I asked him whether he was really interested to bring back home fresh dates and he said yes. I drove out of the highway at the next exit and we parked the car under the date palm trees. To my suprised, he immediately took a camping knife inside his bag and shopped around. The photo shows you one of the "tandan kurma merah". Sometimes, I enjoyed doing crazy thing with my young friends....
