LARGE STINGRAY

"Bapak Ghana" from Central Java gave us this large stingray on the first week of March, 08. The width was approximately 1 m and the thickness at the centre was 100 mm. The fish was caught approximately 2km away from the beach. We have not finished the meat. Too much for 3-4 of us.

TOMBAK SOTONG

This was one of the squid that Arip "tombak" at Gudang Garam Beach. We cooked sambal and the taste was good.

FAKHRORAZI AND FRIENDS

Fakhrorazi mintak gambar yang saya ambil setahun lepas ini di masukkan ke dalam blog. Mungkin ada cerita disebaliknya yang mengingatkan dia sesuatu. Bagi saya tarikh gambar ini diambil memang sentiasa dalam ingatan.

Tak sakit ke pinggang bila membongkok bakar ikan. Mana support barbeque set tu?

FISHERMEN HALL OF FAME

No wonder people call him "Pari Killer". Look at his two hands, both are liked tiger claws. We will put his name in the Fishermen Hall Of Fame in remembrance of his significant contribution to the community in MTF. We are going to miss this killer presence starting 1st October, 07 and we hope other fishermen will follow his legacy. Roslan, Arip and Harmadi, permanent residents of Kg Pasir Berdenggung may continue the footsteps of Ipin and supply us with fresh pari, InsyaAllah.

NANTI JANGAN RINDU-RINDUAN

Inilah makanan yang Pak Yah masak semasa Hari Raya Aidil Fitri tahun 2005. Ketupat, rendang, sambal kacang, nasi baryani, kari dalca dan masak lemak lodeh (lontong). Uhhh sedapnya, terliur pulak di bulan puasa ni.

Pada tahun 2006, Pak Yah berhari raya di Malaysia dan kami yang tinggal makan mee hoon aje!!!! Lepas tu menempel di kem kontraktor untuk makan roti canai dan lontong. Itulah nak dikatakan di sini, betapa ketaranya antara adanya Pak Yah dengan tak ada. Tahun 2007 lagilah ketara, Pak Yah akan pulang ke tanahair pada penghujung September dan terus berkhidmat di Malaysia. Bayangkan suasana Hari Raya di MTF tahun ini....Emmm tak mahu bicaralah Bapak... Sedih tinggalkan kawan-kawan yang bertiga. Mungkin kalau dah terdesak, masak ajelah asalkan ade rupa, rasa belakang kira. Jangan dua-dua tak ada sudah!!!


Hari-hari memancing di Setapak,
Inginkan keli dapat haruan,
Makanlah banyak-banyak semasa nampak,
Nanti jangan rindu-rinduan.

Sahabat-sahabat yang gemar makan di gerai-gerai di pekan Suakin mungkin teringat hidangan yang "simple and honest" ni. Kharuf goreng dan roti....

JALAN BERLIKU

Ini adalah jalan berliku di celah-celah gunung gersang Red Sea Mountain. Jalan yang satu sahaja menghubungkan Port Sudan dan Khartoum. Mat yang berjalan ni tak tahulah siapa, jin, malaikat, hantu ke??? Sebab tak ada rumah di kawasan gunung ni. SB kot???

JAUH PERJALANAN

Jauh berjalan, luas permandangan. Singgah di rest area di Red Sea Mountain. Berkenalan dengan jejaka tempatan yang luhur hatinya menjual minuman panas.

ROTI ISTIMEWA

Resam di sini, roti beralaskan meja. Yang ini mejanya bersih.

ARUS RESORT

Lagu ini mungkin mengingatkan kenangan manis bersama Laila. Walau bagaimana pun, tak sio-sio kito bawak dio ko Kg Pasir Berdonggung. Adolah guno nyo solain buek kojo komissioning tu ha. Topi makanan konolah masak lobih dori biaso. Kuek makan ni hoi...

APA KATA IPIN

Mungkin inilah musim memancing yang terakhir bagi beliau. Buat kenangan kawan yang banyak berjasa menghadiahkan ikan kepada semua yang tinggal di Kg Pasir Berdengung. Jazakallahukhairan. Jangan lupa, teruskan hobi di parit-parit dan laut Malaysia.

CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE

This is not a water filter. When people are sicked with too many flies, they started to be creative. This is how they catch flies at site. It is designed such a way that the flies able to get into the container but unable to get out. The theory is simple, flies eagerly enter from the small holes at the side. On the other hand, flies always thinking to escape vertically (smart flies!!!). Therefore, the plastic bag is installed to avoid the flies from escape. Smelly food is normally put inside the container to attract the flies. Once the plastic is full with flies, remove it and throw it away. Simple as that!!!

HONOURABLE JUDGES

This is a place where real cooks are developed and trained to be world class chefs. These guys are reputable judges from different parts of the country. This photo shows the judges tasting steamed red sniper. Never leave "kicap kipas udang"!!!

AYAM NOT KAMBING BEEK

As an appreciation to the person (with disclosed body) whom provided us with delicious muffins, we show his disclosed photo for remembrance and recognition. He used to be "lanun pari" to safe some money for his new bakery. Hope everybody will drop by at his bakery to say "Hi" and support his business.

MUFFIN

We used to eat these marvellous and delicious muffins i.e kiwi, chocolate, blueberry etc. The muffins were flown on business class directly from Malaysia. It came with bread and cakes. Those days were gone and became a history. We will miss the honest and free delivery food.
